Home Inspection/Air Quality Testing

Our inspection process centers around 2 layers: Moisture testing + Air quality testing. We will check the moisture levels in your home to determine the source of your potential mold issue(s). The moisture problem will have to be corrected before the mold remediation work can begin. If we do not correct the moisture problem the mold will simply return. It would be like putting a band-aid on your mold problem instead of fixing it properly. Sometimes you can see visible mold growing in a home and other times you cannot. The difference is when you see mold growth, what you are actually seeing are colonies of mold that have formed. Actual mold spores are microscopic and not visible to the naked eye so by the time you see colonies you have millions of mold spores.

There are up to 20 million mold spores in a square inch and that’s the size of a postage stamp. Air quality testing for mold in your home provides crucial information for safeguarding your health and property.

Mold spores are often invisible and can be present even without noticeable signs of mold growth. Testing can reveal the presence and type of mold, allowing you to determine the extent of the problem. This knowledge is essential for taking proper action. If mold is harmless, the testing can provide peace of mind. However, if mold is identified as a health risk, the test results guide remediation efforts to ensure thorough removal and prevent future problems.

By proactively testing your air quality, you can breathe easier (literally!!) knowing you’re creating a healthy environment for yourself and your loved ones. We will take air quality samples from different areas of your home to determine which areas show high mold spore counts. These air samples are sent to a third-party lab to be processed. What we are looking for in that report is for the air quality inside your home to be equal to or better than the air quality outside. Since we are taking samples in various parts of your home, the results will also tell us which areas have high spore counts and which areas do not.
